Mr. Tang has been in practice since 1963 with extensive experience and knowledge in corporate law and litigation.

In 2011, he was awarded the CC Tan Award by the Law Society of Singapore, an award which honours members of the Singapore Bar who have, throughout their careers, displayed the highest ideals of the legal profession – honesty, fair play, courtesy and personal integrity.

Mr. Tang served as one of the Chairmen of the Disciplinary Committee established under the Legal Profession Act for more than 10 years. He was formerly the Chairman of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules Committee of the Law Society of Singapore, and is presently still serving as one of its members.

He held full-time political office between 1968 and 1972, as Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Finance (1968 - 1970), and as Minister of State for Finance (1970 - 1972). He was the Deputy Speaker of Parliament from 1972 to 1981, and a Member of Parliament from 1966 to 1988.

Mr. Tang is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and currently serves as an independent director on the Boards of several companies listed on the Singapore Exchange. Mr. Tang had co-written three books entitled Directors' Duties and Liabilities, Your Rights as a Consumer, and Contract Law.
